Virginia Wines Awarded 22 Medals at 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Twenty-two awards went to Virginia wines at the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition last week, including one Best in Class and one Double Gold. This competition is the largest competition of American wines in the world.

Kind of a new wave area in that it specializes in more French grapes like Cabernet, Syrah, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer than classic Spanish ones. However, the results are normally quite impressive and often value oriented.CA Wine Club
